TRILBY VS. FEDORA
There are so many hats here at Gigi Pip. Sometimes it can get confusing, so don’t worry! I’m here to help you out + explain the main differences between a Trilby hat + a Fedora.
Because of their similarities, the trilby and fedora can often get mistaken for each other. However, the two styles do have a couple major differences. Fedoras like the Leo, Wes, Scottie, Emma, + Billie have a pinched crown and a stiff, wider brim. While trilby hats ( like our Ruth) have short brims that turn upwards.
There’s no denying that these hats have similar structures, but the few differences they do have is what gives each hat it’s unique personality!
Here are a few tips to rock a trilby:
- Trilby hats are traditionally worn “halo style”.
- Pair a Trilby hat with sophisticated neutrals.
- Try a smart casual or semi-formal look.
While we're here talking about hat differences, let's dive into Homburgs + Fedoras.
A fedora hat has a low profile + a center-dent crown, while the Homburg has a tall round crown with only one center crease. Homburg hats have a curled brim around the entire hat while fedoras maintain a crisp edge.
Now that you know the difference between these hats, which is your style?
